Using Diversion Tactics to Cut Tantrums in Their Tracks

dreamstime_686312My five-year-old girls usually have a leisurely bath on weekend mornings. This morning, after breakfast, the girls started playing with their Barbie dolls, while I hung out the washing.

When I came back in from the garden, I announced that it was Bath time, only to be met with a resounding, “Uuugghh!!” The girls were quite happy to be playing with their dolls and were not amused at having to leave them behind to go up for their bath.

Rediscovering the Frugal Habits of Our Grandparents

MakeDoJLLike most people I know, I have had to be more careful with my money in the past year or so.  One of the outcomes of the recent Global Recession is that a great many people have made huge lifestyle changes and adopted a frugal lifestyle akin to the lifestyle of our grandparents during wartime.

I too, am looking to make lifestyle changes. I am striving to be more frugal, self-sufficient and environmentally friendly. I intend to blog about the step changes, as they occur, in this website.
