We All Went on Safari!
It was quite quiet at the park, even though it was the school holidays and a lovely mild day. I couldn’t believe that we all spent the day outdoors mid-October with no jackets on! (For anyone unfamiliar with the Scottish climate, this is almost unheard of at this time of year!)

The Super Dooper Rollercoaster
I like the layout of the park, and the fact that there are other things to occupy the children, apart from just animals. There is a small children’s theme park, with a “super-dooper!“ roller coaster, cup and saucer ride, carousel, bouncy castle and dodgems. There is also a huge outdoor adventure playground with a pirate theme, which the girls loved, and an amusement arcade which (thankfully!) they have no interest in (at the moment!).

The girls loved this wee Shetland pony
There’s a petting farm, where you can feed and stroke animals such as donkeys, goats, Shetland ponies, Clydesdale horses and llamas. A highlight of the day was feeding the huge Clydesdale horse, with it’s huge slobbery (but v gentle) mouth.

There are lots of llamas at the park.
There is also a sea lion show, which runs several times a day for a half hour show. This was another big hit with the girls.
At another part of the park, you can see zebras, giraffes, rhinos and elephants, and there is also a boat trip to Chimp Island, where you can see a family of chimps, living on their own little island.

Meet Nelly!!
Before leaving the park, we drove through the reserve enclosures. There are several different types of deer, goats, camels, highland cows and buffalo in the reserves. However our favourites were definitely the lions and tigers.
All in all it was a great day out and the highlight of our week off.
