Five Fingers of Thanks
I thought I’d participate in this meme by Pamela M. Kramer, A Renaissance Woman, Five Fingers of Thanks.
It was Mothers’ Day yesterday (in the UK) – a day of appreciation, not only for mothers, but of families. With that in mind, here’s my Five Fingers of Thanks:
- My Mum – Read my Thankful Thursday post to see why I’m so thankful for my lovely Mum.
- My Mother-in-Law – I could not manage without my mother-in-law (or father-in-law!). Since I returned to work after having my daughters, my in-laws have been an immense help with childcare. They volunteered to look after the girls, and have enjoyed spending time with them. Without their help, it would not have been financially viable for me to return to work.
- My Hubby – Yesterday, I did not get breakfast in bed and a lie in (as I normally would on Mothering Sunday), as Hubby had to work. However, he made up for it in the evening when he took me, the girls and his folks out for a lovely meal.
- Sophie – My first born (by 2 minutes!) Sophie is my super-sensitive, affectionate daughter. She is the more domesticated of the two, and loves to be Mummy’s Happy Helper. I love her to bits!!
- Rachel – Sophie’s twin sister and resident Bossy Boots! Rachel is head-strong, confident, very competitive and full of fun. I love her to bits too!!

Mine is done in a different way. Everyday, I make it a point to write in my journal something I’m thankful for. Even if it’s just a free ride going to work or a gesture of affection from someone I love, they’re all included in my daily gratitude list.

2Thank you for joining in! My pastor actually started this one Sunday so I just carried it on. I’m so happy it inspires others.
