Wordless Wednesday – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
I love where I live. My small town is situated in an ideal location. It’s close to beautiful countryside, but has great commuter links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk and Stirling.
Unfortunately, not everyone appreciates their surroundings. Litter is a huge problem throughout Scotland, and one of my main bug bears!
My town has so much potential. However the local council has decided to scrap plans for regeneration of our run-down town centre. These (condemned) flats are a disgrace! They are a crumbling eyesore!

We want to see the problem blocks you’ve pictured come down too. But we have to do it legally!
Here’s what the leader of the Council has been saying. We’re happy to talk to any resident – or blogger – to give them the facts ….
RESPONSE TO DENNY TOWN CENTRE REGENERATION
Council Leader Councillor Craig Martin has responded to a petition submitted by members of the Denny community about the Denny regeneration scheme by setting out the Council’s position.
Writing to the petitioners, Councillor Martin said:
“The Council recognises the pressing need for the regeneration of Denny Town Centre and understands the community’s concerns. Please be assured that we are making strenuous efforts to progress this critical project.
“However, as things currently stand, the scheme faces fundamental constraints to its delivery from the original Masterplan, presented in 2006. These constraints have arisen substantially as a result of the global recession, which has impacted on schemes such as this across the whole of the UK and overseas.
“As a result of this it is simply not possible to proceed immediately with the regeneration scheme as currently planned for the following reasons:-
