FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY

1. What were your school colors?

I went to Carntyne Primary School in Glasgow, where the colours were grey pinafore & cardigan with a red and white tie.

I went to Smithycroft Secondary School, where the colours were navy skirt and cardigan with a navy, grey & lilac tie.

2. What’s the best compliment you ever received?

I appreciate compliments abut my work. People often say I´m well organised, but sometimes I feel very disorganised. I received great work references from old bosses and colleagues, and have seen genuine affection and respect in managers´ faces when I have left a position.

People often comment on my daughters and credit their good behaviour and impecable manners to how my husband and I have raised them. I am very proud to be their mother and I value compliments of this nature above all others.

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

I loathe cheap toilet paper and fee it is a false economy to buy it! Instead, I tend to buy more luxurious brands when they are on special offer.

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?

No, I´ve never had a surprise birthday party thrown for me. I´m afraid I´m too much of a control freak to leave such things to chance! LOL

I like to plan my own parties!

However, I have had “surprise” parties/presentations thrown for me at work on birthdays, leaving dos, baby shower, etc. Technically they were mostly open secrets, that I was vaguely aware of being planned in the background!

I once threw a surprise party for my hubby, who was then my fiance, when he was turning 30 (many moons ago! LOL). He had expected to go out for a meal to a local restaurant – just us and his parents. When we turned up at his parents´house to collect them to take them to the restaurant, there were family and friends waiting to shout “Surprise!” at the flabbergated Birthday Boy!
