1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?

I miss the carefree attitude of enjoying the moment without worrying about the consequences.
2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?
Yes, I’m still friends with a few people from high school.  In fact I’m still friends with people from my PRIMARY school and even NURSERY school!!  The friends I’ve remained close to since school will ALWAYS be my friends!  It doesn’t matter that we don’t see each other very often.  I know that when we hook up, we just carry on from where we left off – no awkward silences!  I know I can rely on a few of my oldest friends no matter what!
Of course, I’m actually in touch with a lot of old school friends through social networking site, particularly Facebook.  However, there’s only a select few that I meet up with in the real world!
3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?
I’m not keen on the word,”Dude”.  I’m not averse to the word on it’s own, but I hate when people add it to the begininng or end of a sentence or question.  The only person who has managed NOT to irritate me doing this is Hurley from Lost!!  :)
I also hate when people add, “you know” to the end of a sentence, which happens quite a lot in Scotland.  If someone says it too often, I find myself counting how many times, and thus not paying attention to what they are actually trying to say!
Some young people in England also have an annoying habit of saying, “innit” at the end of a sentence, which is extremely annoying and quite nonsensical!!
4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America…besides “Old Glory”?
Patriotism.  I very much admire the patriotism displayed by most Americans.  Over here in Scotland, what passes for patriotism is generally “anti-English” or even bigotted views regarding the Catholic v Protestant divide.  I wish we were more like Americans in that respect!!

5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?

Last year, we were in Florida to celebrate 4th July at the Magic Kingdom, which was awesome!  This year, our celebrations are more personal.  My sister’s wedding is tomorrow - 3rd July – and the 4th July is the Men’s Wimbledon Final, when I hope to be cheering on our local hero, Andy Murray!!….

  1. I think friends who have known you “forever” are awesome! I’m friends with a girl that I’ve known since kindergarten and I love that we have so many memories.

And it would be nice to see Murray win in the Wimbledon final. I have a post about Wimbledon and The Queen this year. You might like it. I posted it the Sunday just gone.
