I’m linking up with my friend Amy Palko for her Summer Read-along. We are reading The Time Traveler’s Wife
by Audrey Niffenegger. Amy has read the book before, several years ago and says that it had a profound effect on her life. I have not yet read the book, nor have I seen the film. However, I have heard good reports about both the book and the film from a wide range of friends.

I could’ve lost my Hubby on his 40th Birthday! His brave actions put his own life at risk to save the lives of hundreds of passengers at Glasgow Airport on the day that an attempted terrorist attack took place.
We had just returned from a family holiday on 30th June 2007, when two terrorists stormed the airport with a jeep loaded with petrol cannisters. The terrorists then started attacking a policeman who had run to the scene, before one of the men actually set himself alight! My husband had been packing our suitcases into the car when the attackers struck. At first he thought it was just an accident, but pretty soon he realised that something far more sinister was unfolding, and he ran to the aid of the lone policeman who was under attack by the terrorists.

I have been invited to participate in Random Acts of Kindness Month. The idea is to get people to do one random act of kindness each day in November. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture, even giving someone a smile or a hug, holding the door for someone, or donating your time to another charity, donating items to a good cause will suffice.
Every day, I will share my random acts with you, and I hope that you will join in too and share your acts of kindness in the comments section below.

I wanted to share this fantastic wee video with you. It was filmed by my cousin’s daughter and her pals, as a competition entry to win a dinner date with 2009 X Factor finalist, Olly Murs *swoon*
I reckon Kayleigh and her friends have done a smashing job of this video. It’s so professional and they are only 13 & 14 years old!!

On our recent holiday in Majorca, I was horrified to spot this beach ball, emblazoned with Playboy motifs, in the childrens’ pool. Two children, aged approximately three and seven, were playing happily with this ball, advertising an adult magazine. I later noticed a matching lilo in the pool.
