Working Mommy Wednesday
I just came across this great blog called Work Wife Mom Life today, and I spotted that the author hosts a meme which is most definitely right up my street – Working Mommy Wednesday.

I love where I live. My small town is situated in an ideal location. It’s close to beautiful countryside, but has great commuter links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk and Stirling.
Another week, another Mamma Guilt Monday, courtesy of Cop Mama.
I’m taking my girls to see the X Factor Live in Glasgow this evening. (For my Non-UK readers, X Factor is a TV program akin to American Idol. In fact, Mr Compliments (AKA Simon Cowell) is giving up his spot on American Idol to take X Factor to the USA.) This will be the girls’ first pop concert, and I am hoping that they are not too young to enjoy it! (They are only 5 1/2 years old! *blushes*)
Another week, another Mamma Guilt Monday.
Today, Mamma Kerr is eating humble pie.
Yesterday, I turned the house upside down looking for my daughter’s shoe. The girls were getting ready to go to a Birthday Party and they needed to put on their shoes. My heart sank when I realised that there were just three shiny black shoes lying in the corner of the livingroom.
On closer inspection, I found that we had 2 size 9′s and only one size 8, so it was Rachel’s shoe that was missing. (Yes, my twin girls have different sized feet!)
I’ve decided to start a new meme – Thankful Thursday - where participants blog about what they are thankful for in the current day / week.
First thing this morning, I wasn’t feeling very thankful. I was feeling very tired and in desperate need of a long lie. When I eventually dragged myself out of my bed and peered outside, all I could see was a swirling white blizzard!
The MckLinky Blog Hop theme for this Monday is “Snow Pics and Stories“. With many places getting their “once every hundred years snow”, MckLinky thought it would be fun to see our snow pics and hear about the snow in our areas.
I live in Scotland, UK, and we have experienced our coldest winter in more than a generation. The British media has dubbed this winter as “The Big Freeze“.

The weather is always a hot topic of conversation here in Scotland. Yes, we Scots just love having a right good moan about it! Usually we moan about the wind and rain and about how cold it is. However, many Scots (you know who you are!) even have a winge about the heat on the odd day that the mercury nudges 25 C.
On Tuesday I launched another great giveaway. This time, I’m giving away another enchanting item from Barefoot Books. The prize is a Bear on the Go First Puzzles box worth £7.99 (GBP).
Audience participation is required – ie. tweeting, blogging, stumbling the relevant post, subscribing to this blog or ‘Fanning’ me on Facebook.

Welcome to the Official Launch of my Mamma Kerr blog.
This ‘Mommy Blog’ has evolved from an amalgamation of my earlier blogs from various niches:
I was delighted to discover that I’d lost 2.5 lbs on the second week of my diet, which means that I’ve lost 7 lbs in two weeks – that’s half a stone!
My class was absolutely mobbed on Thursday night! It was queued out the door when I arrived sharply at 7pm for my weigh-in. I asked a few of my fellow dieters in the queue, whether this was especially busy or not. It was certainly the busiest I’ve seen it out of my three visits. Everyone agreed that it was an exceptionally busy night.
I received an email from Jennifer Tankersley of ListPlanIt, this morning, notifying me that it was only 100 days until Christmas. Does this observation fill you with panic, as it did to me this morning?
In the current economic climate, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is apprehensive about the cost of Christmas this year. Whilst still looking forward to Christmas with my family and friends, I’ll certainly be having a more frugal Christmas this year. My husband works in construction and things are still pretty quiet in that industry. He is actually having to work down in England for the next couple of months, while his company tries to secure more contracts in Scotland. This is not ideal, but it is certainly preferable to him being made redundant, so we can’t really complain.
I was deeply saddened to hear that actor, Patrick Swayze, died yesterday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Like many women of my generation, I had a special affection for Patrick, after falling in love with him in the 1987 smash hit, Dirty Dancing (one of my all-time favourite films!), with his excellent portrayal of snake-hipped Johnny Castle and the line:
“Nobody puts Baby in the corner!”
Today, thousands gathered in New York in a square near Ground Zero to pay tribute to the victim of the 9/11 terror attack on the eighth anniversary of the atrocities.
Rememberence ceremonies have been held all over the US, with moments of silence being observed at each of the three sites, where victims perished.
