I’ve been so busy over the past few weeks, that I simply just didn’t have the time to go through all my back-office folders with a fine tooth comb and delete the offending files. I only got round to doing this mammoth task on Monday night and finished it last night. It was really soul destroying!

It transpires that it was My Party Plan Blog that had the malicious code, and I have had to resort to re-installing WordPress for it, thus renderring my previous posts to oblivion!

On the bright side, I was planning a major overhaul of the site, so now I can simply start afresh.

The most important thing to me right now, is that Mamma Kerr is back in business! Yay!!

Oh how I have missed blogging, and blog hopping and reading your lovely comments!

Another week, another Mama Guilt Monday, courtesy of Cop Mama. I’m sorry to say that Cop Mama has decided notto continue hosting the Mama Guilt Monday meme, at least for the summer, as she has been finding it too time-consuming and stressful.  I will miss taking part in this meme.  Therefore, I may still keep it going here occasionally, when the mama guikt gets too much for me!

Balancing Blogging & Being a Mom

It’s hard balancing blogging with family time and working fulltime.   However, I try to devote an hour or so every week day to my blog, and a couple of hours blog hopping time at the weekend.

I have a laptop and a netbook, so it’s easy to work online, while keeping an eye on the girls, whether we’re at home or out at a park or soft play area.  Of course, this is not adviseable if you have pre-school children.

I tend to do most of my work online during my lunchbreak and/or in the evening, once the girls are in bed.

The mama guilt kicks in, when I’m busy trying to finish a post, during my time with the girls.  I also feel guilty about neglecting the housework in favour of going online.

Blogging (and blog-hopping) is one of my favourite pastimes.  It’s an ideal way for me to escape the pressures of everyday life!  Therefore, I try not to get too overwhelmed by mama guilt relating to it!

What are your goals for 2009?

One of my main business goals this year is to blog more frequently.  Last year I started quite a few blogs with the best of intentions, but I’m afraid to say that I did not manage to keep them as up-to-date as I would have liked.  What with corporate job stresses, illness and family commitments, I was unable to find my ‘blogging groove’.  This year will be different.  I know that I need to plan and to focus, but I fully intend to get into my ‘blogging groove’ and update my blog portfolio on a very regular basis.

The advantages of achieving my blog goals include:

• I will create more content on my sites to help SEO.
• It will improve my communication with readers (old & new).
• It will create more opportunities for comments and feedback from readers.
• It will help to build relationships with readers & customers.
• It will develop my writing skills.
• I will create potential content for articles and eBooks.
